1. Acceptance of these terms
By accessing or using RentSeekr, creating an account, publishing a listing or sending an enquiry, you agree to these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.
You must provide accurate information, be legally able to enter into these terms and comply with laws that apply to you. If you use RentSeekr for an organisation or another person, you confirm that you have authority to bind them to these terms.
2. What RentSeekr does
RentSeekr provides technology that may help people discover residential rental listings, communicate, save listings and manage parts of a rental journey. Features may change as the platform develops.
Unless we expressly state otherwise in writing, RentSeekr is not a party to any tenancy, lease, rental agreement, inspection, application, payment or other arrangement between users. We are not a real estate agent, property manager, legal adviser or financial adviser. We do not guarantee a listing, property, person, communication, rental outcome, payment, inspection or tenancy arrangement.
3. Accounts and security
You must use a valid email address, protect your password and keep account information current. You must not share your account or allow another person to use it without our written approval. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.
We may require email verification, identity checks or other reasonable security steps. We may suspend or restrict an account where we reasonably believe it is unsafe, misleading, unlawful or breaches these terms.
4. Listings, enquiries and user content
You are responsible for content you submit through RentSeekr, including listings, images, property details, enquiries and messages. You must ensure it is accurate, current, lawful and does not infringe another person’s rights.
Rental providers must have the authority to advertise a property or room and must not publish misleading, discriminatory, unlawful or unsafe information. People seeking rentals must communicate respectfully and provide only information they are comfortable sharing for the relevant rental purpose.
You retain ownership of your content. By submitting it, you give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, reproduce, display and process it only as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, promote and improve RentSeekr.
5. Acceptable use
You must not use RentSeekr to:
- break the law or facilitate fraud, scams, discrimination, harassment, threats or abuse;
- impersonate another person, create false accounts or misrepresent a property, identity or authority;
- collect or use another person’s information for unsolicited marketing, profiling or any unauthorised purpose;
- introduce malware, interfere with security, scrape the platform, bypass access controls or overload the service; or
- use the platform in a way that damages RentSeekr, its users or the availability of the service.
6. Rental decisions and tenancy law
Residential tenancy laws differ across Australian States and Territories and may apply to listings, advertising, tenant selection, inspections, applications, bonds, leases, rent and notices. You are responsible for understanding and complying with the laws that apply to your situation.
RentSeekr does not provide legal, financial, property-management or tenancy advice. Obtain independent professional advice where appropriate. You must not rely on the platform as a substitute for required notices, agreements, licences, checks or statutory processes.
7. Fees and third-party services
Any paid feature, fee, subscription or third-party service will be presented to you before you commit to it and may be subject to additional terms. Unless we tell you otherwise, you are responsible for your own internet, device, professional-service and transaction costs.
8. Availability, suspension and termination
We aim to keep RentSeekr available, secure and useful, but do not promise uninterrupted or error-free access. We may change, suspend or discontinue features, or suspend or terminate access, where reasonably necessary for security, maintenance, legal compliance, misuse prevention or platform operation.
You may stop using RentSeekr at any time. Some obligations and rights—such as those about content, liability, disputes and compliance—continue after an account is closed where they are intended to do so.
9. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, RentSeekr is not liable for loss arising from users’ actions, property condition, listing accuracy, communications, rental decisions, tenancy arrangements, third-party services or reliance on information made available through the platform.
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded, including applicable consumer guarantees. Where liability cannot be excluded but may be limited, our liability is limited to the extent permitted by law.
10. Changes, governing law and contact
We may update these terms when the platform or law changes. The current version will be published here with an updated date. Continuing to use RentSeekr after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms, except where law requires a different process.
