Property lifecycle, offer state and public presentation
Understand why a saved listing status differs from what visitors can see.
Property and offer are separate records
A property stores the physical/rental structure and its setup state. A whole-property or room offer stores the advertisement. Changing one offer does not automatically publish, pause or archive another. Its stored status is the saved lifecycle; effective public state also checks current property readiness, publication, expiry, room availability and the public route.
Marketing states
Read the reason alongside effective state rather than treating this as a tenancy-state table.
| Record state | Meaning | Consequence |
|---|---|---|
| Draft | An offer is being prepared. | It has not become a public advertisement. |
| Published | Publication was recorded. | Effective checks can still prevent public discovery. |
| Paused | Marketing was deliberately stopped. | Eligible publication can resume through Publish. |
| Leased | The offer is protected from ordinary marketing changes. | Use its relationship/workflow controls; do not advertise by changing a label. |
| Archived | The offer/property is retained historical evidence. | It cannot be restored to active marketing through this workflow. |
Media and address privacy
Whole-property and room media are scoped separately. Public-presentation settings decide whether supported shared photos, floorplans and video links accompany the offer. An image can still reveal an address, household member or sensitive detail: review its contents before uploading/publishing. Application intake can disclose the premises address/room name to applicants even when public listing location is less precise.
Immediate saves and protected history
Supported uploads, media ordering and related changes can save before the final editor action. Unsaved text and already uploaded media therefore have different recovery behaviour. Archive preserves established records. Only an eligible empty draft exposes deletion; removing a UI record is not a general method to erase tenancy/application history.
Diagnose an unavailable offer
Check the property and selected offer, its effective-state reasons and public preview. Reopen after a partial upload or uncertain publication before repeating it. Use Pause for temporary removal and read an Archive confirmation carefully. A public link/image/QR generated earlier can become stale; it is not a reservation or proof of present availability.
