MANAGING A TENANCY

Review bond records, claims and actual repayment

Keep recorded bond facts, party-specific claim evidence and money received separate from external bond processes.

Before you begin

These instructions apply to authorised existing users when the workflow is enabled. Public customer sign-up and sign-in are currently paused. A help page does not grant account or record access.

Open the correct tenancy’s bond and claim records. A saved bond amount or lodgement reference is entered evidence. RentSeekr does not lodge, release or repay a bond by displaying that record.

What to do

  1. Review the recorded amount, lodgement and claim details and their supporting reference. Providers use the offered bond-record update controls when an entered fact needs correction.
  2. In an available bond workflow, select the event that actually happened: proposal, provision to the named party, their response/receipt, external submission, official notice, contest, extension or outcome. Link the requested evidence and parent record.
  3. Each eligible party records their own recipient-specific information where offered. A renter’s supported initiation path is not described as needing provider approval, completed exit work or administrative closure.
  4. Record actual money received separately. Where attribution is available, link the receipt to the applicable outcome and check any unresolved or conflicting allocation.

Expected result

The current projection and retained history distinguish a proposal, an external process and actual repayment. A correction or withdrawal changes the current interpretation while retaining the earlier evidence.

Limits and recovery

An outcome does not prove cash was returned, and a receipt does not alone establish its allocation. Copy official dates from the actual document when requested; Help does not calculate a contest deadline or determine eligibility. If the evidence changed, refresh and review the hold instead of recording a fictional agreement or receipt. Use current official guidance or qualified advice for the external process.
