MANAGING A TENANCY
Record rent without collecting a payment
Track rent amounts and entered payment evidence while payment initiation remains paused.
Before you begin
These instructions apply to authorised existing users when the workflow is enabled. Public customer sign-up and sign-in are currently paused. A help page does not grant account or record access.
Use the rent and bond area of the authorised tenancy. RentSeekr’s manual rent records do not transfer money. Follow the payment method agreed outside this guide; live payment initiation is paused.
What to do
- Review the current rent authority, schedule and recorded charges before entering a record.
- Providers: use the enabled payment-record controls to enter the actual amount, date and supporting reference. Check allocations against the relevant charges. Renters: review the visible tracking and raise discrepancies with the provider; this screen does not offer tenant payment collection.
- If a record is wrong, use the supported correction or review path and preserve the reason. After an uncertain save, refresh before submitting another entry.
Expected result
The saved records and allocations change the displayed tracking projection. They are entered evidence, not independent bank verification or proof that money was collected. Unallocated money and disputed amounts can need review.
Limitations and problems
A rent charge is not a debit. A displayed recorded payment is not automatic receipt delivery. Payment history may be readable while collection and billing controls are disabled. Missing rent authority or an ending-period review can prevent a reliable amount from being shown; use the review state instead of inventing a balance. Bond lodgement and return use the relevant official process outside these records.
